When it comes to tent weight, I win!!
4 man tent I take to the annual Alpine Rally and any other ride where bad weather is expected, usually share this tent with me ol' bro..............................................................................................................15.2 lbs.
2 man tent I take on every other camping ride...................................................................6.8 lbs.
Best of all, my chair that also goes everywhere..................................................................8 lbs.
I think I've smoked a few lb. in that chair by the camp fire.
Why fuck around?

Re: Got Me A New Cheap Tent
If it's also your backpacking tent, then the weight certainly becomes a bigger issue.Zombie Master wrote:Sometimes I ride, set up camp and hike too! Less is more betta'Major Softie wrote:No it doesn't. It only requires the smallest. I'm very familiar with the problem you are speaking of, from my own shopping and motorcycle camping. Besides, I once, long ago, worked in a back-packing shop here in Tahoe. Often the smallest units are also the lightest, but not always, and there are far better deals to be had when you concern yourself only with size. Saving 1/2 to 1 lb. is very valuable when back-packing, especially as it adds up amongst all the pieces. It is of little value on a 500 lb. motorcycle, and it can cost you hundreds more.Zombie Master wrote: To able to camp, yet with the aerodynamic superiority of this set up, requires the smallest and lightest gear available.

Well She'llbe, at the recent Alpine Rally Ducati Pete said to me "I've tried all the chairs around the fire (about 16 of em) and I like that one the most, I don't know who's it is."She'llbe wrote:Sounds like a great chair.

Full flaps are good for comin' in, but there's less drag when they're trimmed.Zombie Master wrote:Yes I enjoy flaps.
