R69 vs R90 splines

Is the splines in the final drive similar on both bikes? Are they interchangable?

Similar - yes. Interchangeable - doubt it.

No, not even close. The /2 series uses much wider teeth and less of them. Due to lower HP and much wider teeth, it is almost unknown for them to wear out. Excessive wear is more related to improper alignment. This was not an issue on the post /2 series.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.
