Duane Ausherman wrote:We test rode a lot of types of mirrors on the /5. I am here to tell you that the headlight mirror fails to work on any model. They all vibrate too much, by a huge amount. However, the Albert mirrors at the ends of the bars work very well. One can actually see past the body (for average sized riders) and your hands dampen out vibration very well.

That photo shows a Euro "type" of bar, but it doesn't have the correct curves for stock. I wouldn't be surprised if it is 7/8" bar.

You must decide if you wish to have something that actually works, or something that fails to work but is cool............ in your opinion.
I think I am being pretty realistic in my expectations. It will be a while before I am able to test the mirrors but I have kept the box and packaging. If I find the lack of functionality outweighs the uniqueness factor (in my eyes) I will resell them and move on.I definetely appreciate you sharing your experiences. The bars are Fehling bars. I think I bought them from Hucky's. I measured and they are 22.3mm bars. I like the style or curvature.

I was warned that the Bumm's were useless and my Albert headlight mirrors work GREAT on my 1973 R75/5 (but they did take some serious adjusting).

If you have any vibration problems you can use a rubber washer between the headlight ear and the metal washer to the mirror, works great. As I and others have mentioned they take a little getting used to but are very workable. I went throught the same issue when I put mine on as far as mounting position, you have them setup correctly.
