with daylight burning
I decided to throw in some fork oil and go for a spin...
and so I grabbed a bottle and started pouring,
wow this Motul 5W is light,
runs in like water,
and smells hmmm like ....
brake
fluid .............

As we are fond of saying down here in southern parts, "Shiddabrick".

Mal, moments like these forced me to come up with a saying for myself.
"The only thing that brings my brilliance undone is my baffling stupidity"
Not saying that is applicable here tho'![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Always make the most out of a situation tho' Mal.
You may be able to balance your carbs with your forks.
A bit like tuning forks really.

So how did it ride? Just consider this a test of very light oil in your forks. What can it hurt?

Thanks for making me feel better George. Fork-oil in the brakes, on the other hand ......George Ryals wrote:So how did it ride? Just consider this a test of very light oil in your forks. What can it hurt?
I drained the legs. Now struggling to replace the stripped damper nipple. I have spare damper rods,... but can't get the nipples to undo, even with heat. This was meant to proceed quickly ....

Re: Expresso front wheel rebuild
yeah, drain and replace 'should' be a pretty straight forward procedure (w no lasting negative consequences)... when we did my mate's 100s forks we had an issue w a broken nipple - freakin' PITA! i hear the fireman has 'heaps' of 'em - might be a quicker/cheaper alternative source.
good luck!
