All the tools but ONE that gspd listed I could see using...
But where can you find a PAY PHONE now, especially when you NEED one? (no signal for your cel)
How about a set of spare bulbs for the important lights? and a couple of fuses?
(they don't count as tools, do they? but then some of the stuff gspd shows aren't tools either.)
MS mentioned a small multimeter...I'd add to that a long hank of wire with aligator clips on each end so you can connect from any place on your bike thru the meter to whatever other place you are checking.
I've got a set of jumper-cables I made up to help those folks who don't have a foot starter...regular auto jumpers usually have connectors that are too big to fit onto a motorcycle battery.
But where can you find a PAY PHONE now, especially when you NEED one? (no signal for your cel)

The pay phone quarters have been in there for 20 years BC (Before Cellphones) when I wanted to call somebody from a roadside phone but had no change in my pockets and there was nobody around.
As far as the multimeter goes, a test light is just as efficient for all airhead related electrical issues.
( I do have a voltmeter on my dash )

One thing........Okay, there will be more, but maybe I should have said, "First thing" is, if you are ever in an accident, and you can still hear, talk and reason at all, if "they" are going to tow your bike away, get your tool kit from the bike and take it to the hospital with you! My first one was stolen by someone along the line, before I got my bike back. Of course, no one is responsible. Do I sound pissed? No, it's been five years or more. I'm still so pissed that I hope.....oh well, never mind.
I bought the deluxe BMW tool kit after mine was stolen by some dirt bag at the wrecking yard. Oh, that's right, I said, "oh well, never mind". The deluxe tool kit cost about two hundred bucks at the time. That wasn't insurance money, it just seemed like a good investment. It has been. There is a test light, ratchet set, plenty spanners, feeler guages, pliers and so on, in the deluxe kit. I understand a test light and am not nearly as smart as a multimeter, so that suits me just fine.
Extras I take with me, so far, are small roll of duct tape, Swiss Army knife with pliers (their pliers are SO BITCHIN' and of surgical quality, check them out next time you can), 8" Crescent wrench, a hand written copy of how to adjust the valves, about four feet of wire (14g), spark plug, flash light, long nose pliers and rags.
I have abandoned the stock tool roll. The deluxe kit can't even fit into the underseat box in that roll. I put a rag into the box and put the less used (hopefully) and larger tools in there on the first rag. That rag gets folded in on the tools and then another rag is put on top. Onto this rag, I put the more common and smaller tools, flashlight, etc. The tools fit into the box easier with this method and I can reach in, pull out the top set of tools and have access to the lower set. All the while, they can be laid out on the ground on top of their respective rags and that keeps them handy and accessible.
I think I'll add some light bulbs for my next trip. I also plan to carry spare tubes.
So far, my troubles I've had on trips has all been electrical. You may have noticed I'm an electrical dunce. None of it has been due to faulty electrical work on my part. But then again, I may not know if it was.
