Yeah Ross. Too bad we won't see you but glad its for a "very good thing". Work related very good things usually involve mo' money, but sometimes time off is an even better very good thing.
Looking forward to this long weekend run. Even longer for me; I am taking the whole week off. Thinking of riding to the Coast (Nowra) then South, then spearing inland over the mountains some undetermined way with the aim of arriving Bendigo-ish ..... Anzac day-ish ..... then making my way to Wee Jasper (with Pete and ?)
Any suggestions on how to maximise the riding and viewing and socialising enjoyment are welcome (apart from just getting my bike & shit together in time)
cheers
Mal

R U getting down thisaway Mal? I'm keen to hook up and possibly ride to WJ from here'bouts...Mal S7 wrote:5 weeks to go!

If you've got the time/inclination we can do a quick Central Highlands tour... And, of course, you're most welkomm to stay over as long as you like.
Best you let me know of any roughish plans so I can make the appropriate time available.
At this stage I've pretty much got the week off AFTER the Jasper, but will need the time beforehand to be coordinated.
As Chas could prolly tell yas, i've had a bad case of the touring itch of late... like, tours of SA AND the Snowies in just the past couple of weeks. Another jaunt to the alpine country will be well past due by the end of April.

Sounds great Pete, how 'bout Bob n I meet up with you n we all tour with destination Wee Jasper, via Charlie's, in mind. I don't know where you are based nor what country is worthwhile. How about you propose something. Pretty much any Victoria interests me but like to avoid the wide open plains and long straight roads as there is a massive surfeit of that round here. I will have camping gear of course though cheap n interesting pubs would be good.
Going via Narooma can be in Vic high country by 23rd depending on what Bob wants to do (even earlier?) When are you heading to WJ Charlie? Friday? What if we made landfall on your side of the bridge on Anzac Day? Or can you get away too?
My schedule is still flexible. Had hoped to visit a cousin in Bendigo but she will be out of country. Just found out an Uncle in Melbourne has the big C so mayyyyy need to pay a visit there too. Everything is close in Victoria no?
I have to go rebuild carbs now and drop the gearbox or I won't be going nowhere. But first, a dripping tap to repair.
cheers

G'day Mal et al.
Yep, Anzac Day at Bethanga will be great. And I may be able to join up with the convoy a couple of days earlier, depending on weather and where you are at the time. As Pete knows, I can be easily tempted by the lure of a mountain ride. Keep us posted.
