Are these old K100LTs the exact same bike as the K100RSs only exception being the Fairing,
or are there other Mechanical differences such as gearing etc?, and will an RS Fairing slot right onto
an LT without any modifications?

The greatest modification would be to your bank account Jeff.
I don't know what fits what, but I doubt it would be simple. Then there's paint.......
Edit, as well as handle bars, cables, wiring differences..

Personally, I wouldn't even consider it.

Jeff, you could try the K11.org forum. Maybe someone has taken on the same type project.....boxertwinjeff wrote:Are these old K100LTs the exact same bike as the K100RSs only exception being the Fairing,

Harness isn't the same, but everything you need for an RS is probably on there.
Hawksley says the RS has an 11/31, and the LT has an 11/32 - not a big enough difference to worry about.
They have exactly the same fuel capacities, which is good, because that means they probably have the same tank.
If it was something you REALLY wanted to do, I don't think it would be too bad. It's all about the price of the parts.
