Rim manufacturer?
Who made the /5 & /6 rims? I haven't seen a logo stamped on them.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.
Re: Rim manufacturer?
Weinmann, if I recall correctly.
Re: Rim manufacturer?
I was pleased to see Weinmann on my /6, as I am quite familiar with the company from my bicycle experience.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Re: Rim manufacturer?
I don't remember seeing the name on the rims, so that is why I asked.
So, they make bicycle rims too? I infer that you found them to be quality?

The name was stamped on the rims right next to the cracks coming from the spoke nipple holes.

Good solid stuff. Rims and brakes. Neither would be on a bike I was racing, but certainly on an everyday rider. If my guess is right, Chuey recently did a ride in Montana on a Weinmann-equipped bike.Duane Ausherman wrote:I don't remember seeing the name on the rims, so that is why I asked.

Fwiw mine is a 73 Lwb the front rim is an Akront, rear has a sticker imprint that is the same as on the front near the valve, not sure if they are the originals though. It was from FNQ where it could have been used for anything from land clearance to stationary engine.
