Glad you posted. I'm getting closer to doing the dual disc conversion on my '76 R75/6. I already have that all important R/H slider, calipers, and most of the necessaries. I had forgotten that Motobins sells a turn key M/C kit (at least I think they sell everything for a kit).

A few years ago I converted my '77 R100/7 to dual disks, albeit with the under tank M/C. Still and all I was pleased with the conversion. I will like the handlebar mounted M/C much better.

Who knows, I just might order two handlebar M/Cs and make both bikes brake better.

Put both of them on the '76. The brakes will turn out twice as good.

Thanks Jagarra. I'll give that a go and see how it goes. If it improves, I'll know I didn't get it all.
It seems ok now, so will see.....

Don't forget that Charlie aka Airbear has done the handlebar conversion on his 90/6 using Magura parts with heavy cost saving and excellent success. He's posted in here about it before.

Indeed, I have been paying attention. The difficulty for me (for example) is that my '76 R75/6 has different switchgear than Airbear has. His is an early /6 with the /5 style switchgear. Simply, my later switchgear leaves not enough room for the master cylinder. I believe Airbear also had to add an extension to his handlebar ends to get the master cylinder away from the bend in the handlebars.

If I remember correctly, the later master cylinder that I plan to use also requires certain pieces of the throttle mechanism, mostly because BMW changed the design from what they used to have and what is now needed. As you can probably tell I'm fuzzy on the details. When I go to actually do the conversion, next summer, I will have sharpened up. But I seem to remember that Motobins has this stuff figured out and the problems are handled with their "kit". I think there's another seller who also has a kit, but I can't remember the name.

I am looking to do the same but I have a dual throttle and a 14mm piston oem MC. I need a 14mm Magura MC. And also will this fit my dual cable setup??

Yes...just use the same set up as on the 81 to84 models e.g. RS and RT that utilize a single cable upper to a splitter for dual cables to the carbs? Or maybe I'm missing something?

You would need the upper single throttle cable, splitter, and the 2 lower throttle cables.

Later monolever models reverted to dual throttle cable setup from the handlebar to the carb I think. No cable splitter. Sourcing parts from those shouldn't be too hard. The handlebar chain and pulley mechanism with throttle grip is only available in a later oem version these days.

I'm not a fan of the cable splitter. I see it as just one more (unnecessary) device to go wrong. And they do go wrong. At least mine did.
