Yup.

You state what you want and what you want to pay. if someone figure it's worth their time they contact you. If they figure you are a lowballing time waster they don't.

I found two short blocks with cams on IBMWR for 75USD each. Probably cost more to just get the cams out of them---more work and what's left is harder to sell because it's incomplete. I imagine a plain cam will show up in a day or two.

You could post a want ad there or other places. Most don't list what they want to pay--you can figure they are lowballers. People that state their budget often get parts quickly. People know they aren't screwing around. Say you'll pay a "fair" price and you'll bullshitting. List that "fair" price and you're serious.

Thats thrue! But it should be quite obvious that im serious about buying one! ;) I found one on ebay for 25 bucks. Is that a normal price range? Im having hard setting the price since ive never bought a bmw part. ever. And ill rather buy something from someone here then a random on ebay!

The timing chain had never been changed.. So ill write up a timing chain kit also! And I should change the cranksprocket also? Is there any minimum specs on that or is it common sense doing it?

And now to my worries: The oilpump have definetly taken some crap from the camshaft. It has some marks and scratches in it. Ill post some pictures of it:

How bad is it? I could always change the trochoid pump but should i do something about the housing? Is hard to take good pictures at the scratches. They arent deep but you can feel them.

Nothing wrong with getting he cheapest part you can---you have lots to buy. But make sure you can return it if it isn't good. You will eat the shipping both ways of course. Check the ebay sellers feedback carefully.

New chain, new crank sprocket, new crank bearing. Bearing is OK now but it won't be after you take it off. The cam sprocket will last for two crank sprockets so run that. New tensioner shoes. Fresh pressure relief spring is commonly done.

Lot of clueless wonders on ADV. Even ME109 seems to have forgotten that the carb bowl starting chamber is vented---and how. Nice guy but ya can't learn him nuthin'. BUT, when Anton Largardier speaks, you listen. Period. Get his opinion on the oil pump chamber in the block. Offer to take more pics if needed. Ted Porter is the other person to listen to, but he very rarely posts.

I can tell you how to measure the depth of the scratches in the bottom of the bore, if he says it would be good to do that.

Check the lifter bore in the block that mates with that bad lobe. Slide a lifter in and check fit. Look for the lifter rocking in the bore, a lot of out-of-roundness, etc.

If it was me, I'd be getting one of those $75 short blocks of IBMWR, all of it---but the shipping in country wouldn't be a killer. I advise figuring out how mush it would cost to get a short block to Sweden. You have one in front of you to weigh and measure.

PS--looks like a master link in the chain in the first pic---right by the bearing?

Hey, I just thought of another use for my carb bowl at rallies. Rallies/rallys. Major, you're good at spellign n'stuff, what is it?
I put a picture of my starting chamber up the other day.
Bet you haven't got a shitter on the back of your bike.

Don't got a bong long time gone. They legalize pot this year and I don't smoke no more. Pisses me off. I do have a cut down rifle barrel fitted with a bowl case I take it up again. Long story. Cool smoke tho'...keep it in the freezer. Been real sick. Just tried drinking some beer tonight. Nourishing. Forgot to delete the pics...can barely type. Fug it. I can explain how the cold start well works, I can show how the venting works, how the two stage action functions. Everybody nods their heads. Guy knows something they say. Comes around again and all is forgotten. "the gasket has to seal the well at the top" is once again blatted out. Like I never said a word. Why bother? Good question. Why bother indeed?

Mine don't start good. Fires strong and dies quick. Classic symptom of the jet in the bowl not feeding well. You get the first stage, not the second. If a drilled vent then it's also suspect. I got cast vents. I don't like to believe it--I painted the bowls and paid some attention to the jets. But there it is---so I'll check them. Not a critical jet and shouldn't be removed---some carb cleaner and a wire will do---evaluate the filling with some water and a stopwatch for future reference. it ain't rocket science, it's a metering orifice. The hole on the stand pipe requires checking too. Remember that one?

No shitter on the back of the bike. Got TP in the tank bag. Need to shit I go in the woods and make like a bear. No carrying a smelly box on the back. No, "mommy, why does that man have his leather pants down sitting backwards on his motorcycle". I have some small societal obligation to spare parents awkward questions from their progeny. There is a limit. "Mommy, why is that mans motorcycle so loud!" is legit. Correct answer: "Because he is an anti-social asshole who will rip us out of the car and eat our skin off if we cut him off". Believe it kiddies. Don't let mommy cut me off in her SUV.

The rally's organizers were great guys.

PITA, you picked the wrong feature to criticize on ME 109's bike. That feature is creative, quirky, and silly. That is respected here. As I have repeatedly mentioned, being dickish is not.

My carbs are most always beautifully clean (to me) and have never let me down.
Well, except for those few years that I strained a 44 through each boot. I can drill out whatever I want on my carbs. :roll:
Nothing like having more than enough fuel when you want it.

Funny when I clocked the highway patrol car going @ 130 in the opposite direction round a neato bend through a cutting......
When they finally arrived and got out out the car and walked up to me, they both stopped at the same time and backed up, directing my attention to the white plume of vaporised fuel swirling upwards from my rh header.
Having become a fairly regular occurrence, (actually I use premium) I casually observed the usual and said "don't worry about it, it does it all the time".
They were ok after that. After I turned the fuel off.
