This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Well, it wasn't "good to go". No battery or clutch bled.
So, no test ride-e equals no buy-e. He's out of town as of today
for a month. At least the bike isn't going anywhere.
In the mean time, could be another one may surface.

Definitely not ready to sell. I think he's high on his price anyway. If you're going to spend that much, spend a little more and buy my immaculate and nicely optioned 2005 R1200RT with just under 20K miles. It IS good to go and needs nothing. I'm going back to a GS.

$7900 is high, especially when it isn't currently running, and sounds like it's been sitting for a while which is never good. If it was me, I'd offer him half that amount "as is".

Way to much for an 02 . Much better off looking at an 04 if you like that style of an rt. They worked out all the bugs by then, and they had a few.I have an 02 with 72,000, and am one of the luck trouble free owners. They had many spline failures, due to misaligned trans. They also surged, but that is an easy fix.
You can also find a low milage 04 for much less than his asking price. A friend just sold his with 32,000 and all the whistles for 6,5000.
Forgot to mention, if the cluch needs bled, I would bet my bottom dollar that it needs a new slave cyl. and that is a true PIA if you do it yourself BTDT
