Good day for a ride?

Post by Mal S7 »

Went for a short run yesterday. Didn't get far from town when I stopped to chat to this bloke. He thought he had siezed his just rebuilt motor. (arghh!)

I offered to go fetch a trailer but after cooling down it kicked over and sounded OK. I said I would come back the same way to make sure he made it back to town. But I never did ...

another 30k's down the road:-

Lucky it was a beautiful afternoon

Ain't life grand man!
Many people will never get a flat tyre on a motorcycle.

I went for a ride too yessdy, a full tanks worth.
Absolutely beautiful mountains and countyrside. Green as green grass after significant early Autumn rain, with European autumn colors everywhere through the lower valleys.

That's my second in twenty years. This time was an arse puckering experience. I noticed the tyre was losing air so turned back and rode slow, thought I might make it to the servo in Geurie. I was doing OK for about 5kms til it all got too hot and the tube blew. Went from one dirt verge to the other and then back again while I dragged the back brake; the bike just wanted to lay down and that bitumen looked so hard and sharp racing past.

My pics don't show it but its nice and green around here too. I had a while to appreciate the countryside til the recovery vehicle showed up.

I am glad it happened now though Jeff, got it out of the way before the ride to Geehi!

Yeah, a fair bit more hairy than the back one.

Ooh, tyres.

That's scary Mal! I look forward to the recount in front of the fire at the hut.
I'm lucky to have only had one flat in 20 years.

Yes agree Autumn is made for riding. Orange is looking a picture so making the most of weather. I'm glad your riding skills pulled you through that hairy moment Mal. I need my riding buddy to stay healthy for next rip. Enjoy Geehi lads.

Good point Rob. What did we ever do? Probably had adventures and dealings with complete strangers and learned to be verrry patient.
