What waste? Didn't somebody profit from it? We caused that mess by removing Sadaam. And I still think that if Assad goes down, the same thing will probably happen in Syria.

Oh, and while I'm picking fights, I don't think the R75/5 SWB bikes outhandled the '69 - '70 Bonnevilles. There were several R75's in the '69 Isle of Man TT. They did not win. But to be sure, some time I'll have to swap rides with my buddy. I know how to ride a short wheel base airhead and shift on the left, but I'm nervous about his riding my Triumph with foot controls opposite to what he's used to.
Bonnies of that period are much easier to make faster and lighter. The handling potential is probably fairly even. Pretty tough for an R75 to beat a Bonnie (of that period) in a race that short, but put them in the 24 hours of Daytona, and it starts to get more about who finishes, and that's where the R75 is likely to excel.

Come on, now. What about that Ghandi guy, a little person. He made a big difference. Hitler was a little person.

Ride motorcycles, it makes everything better.
I'm not calling you on it, but I've been paying attention. Riding motorcycles does not make everything better. That reminds me of "Surfing for world peace". Surf away, brah, but check it. No world peace, yet.

Of course, Chuey and ZM, you are correct. I didn't mean to be acerbic. Riding motorcycles does not make everything better. Everything just seems better. ;)

Actually, I think it's much like drinking: it doesn't make anything any better, but it certainly makes you care less about those things that aren't getting any better.

This has me very very sorely tempted to not buy it, this time

I also am following with interest the deterioration in Iraq.

Interesting. One of my favorites of the period, Yamaha or otherwise.

Since I parted out my daily rider. The one that I built some 30 years ago and didn't even wear out a set of tires, that daily rider. I am again in need of a bike, a bike to not buy. My real interest is gone, or I woulda been riding my daily rider. Clearly I don't want a bike to ride. I want one to not buy.

Economics isn't an issue, since I won't buy it anyway. The field is wide open.
