No pinstripes Doug. None of the 'smoke' colors came with stripes, afaik.

I can see the smoke colors man, but I can't see any pinstripes. Oh wait a minute, yes I can. Cool!
Hey! where'd they go?

I'm not sure, but I've seen blood clot smoke with pinstripes a lot. I've never even seen that blue smoke before - was that a factory color?

The blood clot version came with pinstripes or without. Rob Frankhams was factory, but not sure if the one above was factory. I've not seen one in Oz though.
The blue/white smoke was the Serie 500 version that was sold in Oz, I believe as the last of the twin shocks. At least numbered to 424 so I'd guess they were for more than the Oz market.

Surgery tomorrow. Going to block off the two rear crossover pipe stubs. The rear crossover pipe is a pain in the ass for moving the complete exhaust system forward and out of the heads, which was a requirement for my RS when changing the oil filter. Crashbars complicate things even further.

So I won't go overboard trying to hide any trace of the stubs, but the headers will get the appropriate polishing wheel applied....
Ooh, and I somehow have my mufflers in the truck to take to work tomorrow.

When my mufflers are nice and shiny, it'll be like looking into those funny mirrors at the fair.

Gidday,

They are not traditional pinstripes on that flying blood clot pic it is 3mm gold tape, pick it a mile away.

I don't know of many or any blended coloured early beemers that had pinstripes, well not traditional factory handpainted stripes
