My cold weather riding gear is, long sleeve thermal top and pants, good mid length woolen socks, skivvy, tee shirt, thick woolen crew neck jumper, long tracky dacks, two piece leather riding suit, plastic rain pants, long sleeved oil skin coat, plastic rain coat, neck sock with balaclava.

And my recently retired, 20 years service, riding and general adventure boots.
Fit just like old leather bags they did.

G'day Peter

Before my snow rides last year I bought some Aldi 'Snowboard Pants'. They were again on sale in June I think, but not available now. I think they cost $40 or so, and are significantly warmer than the Aldi Motorcycling pants. Here's the only image I could find on the net ...



They are waterproof but breathable, windproof, Thinsulate insulated, lightweight and very comfortable. They have zip closure and good elastic around the ankles. The only problem I found was that they have zippered vents on the inner thighs and on my first ride in heavy rain and then snow there was very cold water trickling towards the family jewels. I sealed them up with silicone and they are good. Thermals under the jeans make a difference too.

Good one Charlie, I'll keep my eye open for those , I saw them but didn't register them as riding gear . Next time .

BTW Aldi are having a bike gear sale starting Saturday, I'm going to pick up a pair of boots and browse the rest of the gear.

Ah, Americans are just like Australians. We all have english as a second language.

Dacks are oz for pants. Tracky dacks are tracksuit pants. Kind of rolls off the tongue nicely, doesn't it? We like that sort of thing. I think we are up to around 250 words and phrases for vomit, by the way.

As will I but Aldi being Aldi it's worth getting a second oppinion but then most of their cycling gear has been good ... thus far I've bought a little yellow tent that could really use another pole ( Question on notice, does anyone know where I can buy individual tent poles that will take a reasonably tight bend ?) , riding trousers ... pretty good but not warm enough for my skinny thighs ... Charlie has helped there , a jacket which turned out to be good but a little big .... that's got to be Aldi's fault ! so I gave it to a mate's son who's just bought his first bike.

OK, the jeans should be goo and boots are on the list if I can find some wide enough.
