This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

They're increasingly using private contractors to randomly set up their speed cameras on the side of the road. You get a ticket in the mail. It's impossible to sweet talk the copper when the camera is busy saving your life.
The previous government allowed the planned mobile camera sites to be published in the newspaper. Current government scraped that.
The camera might get you @ 111km, they auto subtract 3-4 kph from the 111 and sting you for the designated $ @ the calculated 107-108kph. That's $185.
Here's the schedule..http://www.camerassavelives.vic.gov.au/ ... esspeeding

One good thing, if your history is reasonably clean, is that you can appeal against a fine if you meet certain conditions. My wife and I both got stung last year, and we both managed to avoid the fines by following the guidelines here...https://www.police.vic.gov.au/content.a ... t_id=10369
I got a speeding notice recently, one I didn't even know I had coming accompanied by a letter of warning sayingthat becasuse it had been a long time since I had had one I was getting a free pass . ;)

All I see are fines that indiscriminately punish unsafe drivers, and skilled and safe motorcyclists.

Laws never discriminate between lawbreakers - they could not possibly do so. They discriminate only between conduct.

Around here ZM, the little white crosses on the roadside are 95% for dead motorcylists .

Laws, Brad.
I don't think MS is speaking of the human factor of the "justice" system.
