Got Me One

Post by grant81rs »

Gidday,

Yep, got me one again, well its in the mail soon and on its way next week at some stage :)

1978 R100rs with 137000kms, checked out the vin number and its an RS off the production line with matching engine and frame numbers and comes with panniers and frames

Love the "flying bloody clot" colour although not original and the line down the centre of the tank sides area is a little disturbing to the eye but I should be able to get the patina to stand out lovely.

The bike itself is ready for a roadworthy now am told, it runs very sweetly the elderly owner said, fingers crossed there!! and he would not hesitate in riding it around Oz today and its had 3 owners.

The install of the fairing, the recovering of the seat and the removal of those stupid looking front indicators will be the first jobs to do along with a good few more no doubt once I see and sit on it.

Nice one Grant!
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Nice! Welcome back to 247-land.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Gidday,

Thanks for the replies fellas, yep should be fun when it arrives, even my wife gave it the thumbs up!!

So question number 1 of many that will slowly show up in weeks to come on here:

You see the engine badges are missing  I'm wondering what should the correct badges be and look like for a 78 RS?? and also if anyone on here would have a spare set (long shot I know) but its the best place to start and ask.

Thanks for any info that you forward.
