Ear Plugs!

Foam works for me, but after a couple hours my ears start hurting. I can't sleep in them which would be nice when the wife and the dog both have allergies.

I think I have lost one or two that fell to the inside, never to be seen again.

I would be interested in hearing how comfortable the custom fitted jobbers work.

These are my favorites, Brad. Very soft and comfortable. It is a shame they quit making them without cords. I just pull them out. I guess I should quit throwing away all those cords and sell them on eBay?

I tuck a couple of spares into the helmet crevices. It's a handy spot and keeps the pockets free for other stuff.

I always assumed (LOL) that the cord would be uncomfortable under the helmet. Never tried it.
I have a little AOSafety container to put them in when not in use. When I had my R65, I just laid it on the dash panel when the bike was parked in the garage.

I have the problem--especially with my left ear. The custom ones are much more comfortable, and I can wear them 2 to 3 times as long. But, after a while they start hurting as well.

Try a little petroleum jelly in ear canal opening. It forestalls the pain for me.

I have the problem--especially with my left ear. The custom ones are much more comfortable, and I can wear them 2 to 3 times as long. But, after a while they start hurting as well.

Try out a few softer brands, the hard ones expand with a bit of force I guess but the really soft ones are just that.

Earplugs require skill to be used properly.
Some earplugs are shit. May as well hammer a peg in yer ear.

For motorcycling, they can be a one use item for best results. That means once they've been rolled tightly for insertion the first time, sound insulating properties are destroyed. By the second and third insertion (stopped for gas etc) they're stuffed.

Custom molded pugs seem to get as many poor reviews as good.
I like the tapered foam class 5 plugs. I bought a 200 pair box a little while back.
