Electrical cleaner Joe, WD40 attracts dirt and dust.
Something that leaves bugger all residue, which wd40 does. CRC make a good product, but I'm sure there are plenty out there. Connections may need replacement too I guess. That's a solder and protect job.ME 109 wrote:Electrical cleaner Joe, WD40 attracts dirt and dust.
We're in that one together,I'm afraid.Mal S7 wrote:Whoa! +1Nailhead wrote: If a guy's gotta turn 50, October looks like a fine month to do so...
Sig toys rundown, if I may: The Benelli is, well, run down: it hasn't run since the '70's, has 1200-ish miles on it, and just needs a good refresh. And a title. The 990 is fully customized to my riding preferences, and is the quickest route I know of to getting in touch with my inner idiot, and the sticks-- sometimes simultaneously. The RS is the new kid: bought in May, almost on impulse after wanting one since high school. It needs a few things (working front brakes, upgraded charging system, pushrod tube seals), but it's in good overall condition & I'm really glad I bought it.Toga wrote:I know what you mean, Duane.
Since I started restoration on Betsy last year, I have helped build a 3b/room off grid cottage. Now I wish I said no as im getting far behind the eight ball, time wise.
Good Luck with your sale mate.
Thank you & Welcome aboard, Nailhead. You will have to give us the run down on your signature toys - Nice
Trying to come up with a quick 1 liner about looking 39... must be my beauty cream..... nope, I got nothing.
Final coat of primmer / filler going on tank & seat cowling today.
Im running out of room in my house - main frame & 2 box's of finished parts in my b'room, sub frame - wheels & 3 box's of finished parts in spare room, complete new front end in pieces + 6 fairing panels hanging in lounge room, fairing brackets hanging in kitchen, box's & box's of completely & half cleaned parts in the carport.
A fairly standard 'Boxer' house full of box's.
Next week I shall install frame & wheel bearings & begin to assemble a rolling chassis.
What is the best method to clean & tidy up the electrical connections & wiring harness ? ... WD40 & rag ?
Good news Nailhead, you can do that on your RS too! Maybe not the sticks so much, but definitely the inner idiot.Nailhead wrote: The 990 is fully customized to my riding preferences, and is the quickest route I know of to getting in touch with my inner idiot, and the sticks-- sometimes simultaneously.

I don't know, but I just don't feel the hooligan impulse on the RS-- more of a James May-type deliberate & unhurried progress feeling, I guess.ME 109 wrote:Good news Nailhead, you can do that on your RS too! When I figure out how to post a pic, I'll certainly do that. Getting it running will be the coming winter's project.Mal S7 wrote:Ho Nailhead,Nailhead wrote: Hijack concluded, back to RS Refresh 247.
Thread hijacking and degradation is de rigueur here.
I'd like to see a pic of the 650 Benelli. Interesting bike to have, get it running!
cheers
