Hi Oz Spring budders. I'm a definate non starter. Issues with both bikes + work & home priorities.Mal S7 wrote:Is there actually an Ebor Pub? I didn't see it on google-world Sounds like a great idea for place to meet up, (SteveC will also be frowning at the dirt tracks.)Sibbo wrote:That sounds like a reason for an ale at the Ebor pub .
Charlie's comments about how busy the campsite was, is a worry. Did you see any other options?
'twas a beautiful morning here when the fog lifted. I am sick of work already and want to be away!
If the campsite is too busy, you could try Native Dog campsite. From Ebor take the road to Guyra, Native Dog is a few kms on the left. It has a lot more open space. Ebor has a pub with motel units. I can't comment, never stopped there.
Hopefully someone can access this so late in the plan.
Have a great time. Sorry I'm not there.

Re: Spring buds run - Oz Boxerworks
I've just spoken to Steve from Orange. He's with Mal @ Bendemeer pub.
Steve has a leak from his FD, he thinks it's from the breather. I suggested to check it's not from the swingarm filler bolt. I've had that before, and guess what?! I had it again today when I rode to Trafalgar to visit Grant.
If it is indeed from the breather, are there any suggestions from y'all re: why? Mal will be on here later, so a possible solution would be handy 500kms from home.
Mal, you forgot the spare rotor and rotor extraction bolt.

Re: Spring buds run - Oz Boxerworks
Steve's fd might be overfilled. Mine leaks from the breather if I put the specified quantity in.
Usuall 50 ml. less sorts it out.
If the large seal is the problem, a bearing supply will be able to help. Perhaps Repco too.

Thanks for the good advice fellas
Beautiful morning at Bendemeer, a top pub for a gathering one day.
We took the fill plug out of Steves final drive and sure enough it overflowed about a 100ml. We think prob from coming from the shaft, hoping thats the end of it. Will stop in armidale to degrease the wheel and tire. Its a mess.
No current from the alternator either. Will swap batteries back n forth and travel in daylight.
Heading to Ebor, the locals tell us its the coldest place around and ... a total fire ban? wtf!!!

Interesting how the oil can migrate in either direction to & fro the fd.Mal S7 wrote:Thanks for the good advice fellas

No campfire! That's gotta be annoying.

Re: Spring buds run - Oz Boxerworks
Back home enjoying a cold beer. That was a great run. perfect weather the whole 4 days, great roads and excellent company. Caught up with Charlie and Bob at Thungatti. No fire ban thank god! Met Sibbo at last, all too briefly as he didn't find the campsite until the next morning. [ note to self - clearer directions or a rendezvous pub next time]
After we drained that bit of oil from the final drive Steve's bike didn't leak another drop. He gave the wheel a degrease and the dust and corners scrubbed off the rest. And the battery swapping did the trick, that plus disconnecting the parking bulbs at each end, .. and just a couple of push starts of the /7 battery tender.

At Ebor I ran into the Brisbane Cafe Racer Club at a servo on their way South to meet up with, who else but, the Sydney Cafe Racer Club

One fella had a bad trip though, too hard through the bumpy corners .... banged the left engine case ...
.. and then trashed the right ...
Only six stitches in his leg though. All up I call him lucky.
