Spring buds run - Oz Boxerworks

Post by Mal S7 »

Charlie suggested a run to NSW North coast.
Late Sept. Perhaps over the Oct long weekend?

I'm keen and Steve of Orange is also. We could link up with Shell'be and other Northerners.
My house as a stop over for Victorians and border dwellers. I will kill a fatted calf ... or something.

Start thinking about it.

It will be great if we can have a South-North get together Buzz. I am sure other's will chime in with a post eventually. The Alpine Rally is next up. June long weekend. I'm trying to convince myself to not be a Nancy this year and go. Do you reckon hot water bottles will travel?

g'day mal & gary (and anyone else reading this).
I'm sure I'll be keen to get away from the southern chill round about then... I sure am even now.
Is the long w/end the 5-6 Oct? If so, I'll prolly have to rule out a distance ride (at this stage) coz of a prior booking (wedding... no, not mine).
In the meanwhile I'm gonna have a a go at the Alpine again this year... have oxford heated grips ordered and am looking at replacing some lost warm riding kit.
Therefore, I'll be follow this thread with interest.

Any dates asap to enable annual leave organising and I might be a show. It'd be a 5 day thing for me..2 up, 1 there, 2 back.

What are we thinking here? From say, the Port MacQuarie area, inland, north or south?
Cheers, Steve

Over the long weekend. 5-7 Oct. (just found this isnt a long w'end for Victorians, thats a shame.)
Charlie is going to investigate a final destination. I plan on heading North on the Friday for a get together wherever it is on Saturday.

Thats pretty rough huh but it will take shape from here.

Gidday all.
Now, since I'm self-employed and (therefore) have a kind, caring, motorcycle-adventure-friendly boss, I plan to escape for a couple of weeks. I expect I will set off about a week before the long weekend, meandering around, over to the coast, then back inland a couple of times, zig-zagging over the Divide in my preferred manner of travel. I want to get up at least as far as the Nimbin / Murwillumbah area, but that can happen before, after or on the long weekend.

So, where to meet up for the weekend? A suitable site needs to be reachable from Dubbo - Mal and probably others will be coming from there on the Friday. And if the SE Queensland mob is attending, they'll be wanting a decent ride too.

I reckon the northern NSW cousins are probably best placed to offer suggestions for a rally site.
She'llbe, Sibbo, others? Got any ideas?

This sounds great ! She'llbe , these Southerners are going to want somewhere warm ...what do you reckon? It's starting to warm up by October, up here anyway.

O yes. That's the spirit, Peter. Somewhere warm. Yes indeedy. Dry would be good, too.
