The Valeo starter on my bike shredded the fixed planetary ring gear so I bought a new fixed gear and it's shredded that one too without the engine starting! - Any ideas why?
Cheers

Re: Valeo Starter Ring Gear
Not all Valeo (seemingly identical) starter parts are interchangeable.
I found that out the hard way, a hunnert years ago.
I stopped rebuilding (and repairing) airhead starters when these became available about 20 years ago.

About $100 USD, no problems reported on dozens installed.
The old magnet becoming unglued issues are a thing of the past.
I have no affiliation with this company, I'm just a 100% satisfied customer spreading the word.
