Disks Dish for Narrow 2 Rib Hubs?

Post by Todd »

I have two wheels, both spoked and suitable for disks; one's a 4 rib hub, the other's a 2 rib hub.

Which models used a 2 rib hub? I've read dual disk TIC models, both 80 and 100, but these appear to have originally come in black, rather than bare alloy, making me wonder if they are ST or something else. It does have a 19" rim though.

I read on the internet that 'disk face to disk face' they should measure;
  • 4 rib hub with a 52mm width
    3 rib hub with 42mm, and
    2 rib hub with 35mm
However, I find it is closer to 38mm.

This is another case where the parts fiches aren't helpful because the drawings are all too vague.

I've found deep dish rotors, and shallow dished/offset rotors but presumably there would need to be a variety of depths and/or spacers in order to align disks with calipers on each kind of hub, e.g. to fit disks from a 52mm wide, 4 rib to a 38mm 2 rib, would presumably require 2 x 7mm spacers (or 8.5mm if it's really 35mm) but don't see anyone selling them.

Is there a list anywhere of available disks and the caliper centres?

I understand the 2 rib hubs are sought after ...
