R75/7 kickstand kit

Hi, I'm looking for a kit that allows the standard kickstand to stay locked open when deployed from a sitting position. Can you help with a source for such a kit? The bike also has the Brown Ride off center stand.

I know of NO kit that is available.. however I have though of installing a lanyard with a pully to hold the landing stick in place... kindof a parking brake idea.

I always leave the bike in gear when I cock the unit.

Did you try Google? That is just about the first place to go for information. I just tried "bmw motorcycle kickstand" and #1 was my site on how to convert your stand to exactly what you want. The only thing is that I don't know what year that mod was no longer applicable.

The automatic flip up was new on the toasters in 1972. It was adjustable. One could chose.

Moto Guzzi had some bikes with a stand like that. Friend with a T3 has that stand.

A guy named Schneider used to make an inexpensive kit that would do what you want to accomplish. I had one on my '95 GSPD and it worked like a champ. He used to advertise in the O.N. but I haven't seen his ad for quite awhile. I think he was located in Montana or Wyoming. The kit was called the "sidestand fixer bracket" or "sidestand fixer kit" or something like that. Try schneidersinc.com. If that fails, there's always a Brown sidestand...

If you dig a little you will find that Mr Schneider was sued out of existance. I shall not express my opinion on that due to the fact that my freedom to speak my mind has probably been compromised.

I did do a little digging and knew nothing about the lawsuit against Schneider. Apparently, someone was hurt using the sidestand fixer and the subsequent lawsuit centered on Schneider's "circumvention" of what had been designed by the factory to be a safety feature. I installed a fixer on my PD knowing full well what might happen if I had ever ridden off with the sidestand down. If I ever had an accident because the fixer did not retract the sidestand, I don't guess I would ever have thought to sue Schneider. That said, I admit that I do not know any of the details of the case in question. Look out Wrist Rest and Throttlemeister. I guess...

Speaking for myself...Tyke Bike on the hardwood in the hallway, tricycle in the driveway, bicycle with training wheels and then, doom. Learned about the kickstand before I was 5 years old. Everything since then involving kickstands/sidestands is on me. If my Surefoot is deployed while I am in motion, it is nobody's fault but mine.
If you make the choice, live or die with it.
Since my R80 would be fodder for litigation, I hope to take it with me when I am done with it. At red line in 5th gear.
