Re: Vinnylonglegs.

So I have just noticed!

But the question remains...would you get a lighter bike at the ripe ol' age of 80+, the 9th decade of your life?

I can't remember reading whether he needed the money as the reason for selling but man, if it were my bike no one would get their hands on it until I was in a box.

Re: Vinnylonglegs.
My late good buddy Bob Harrison rode old Brit Bikes into his mid seventies. He was about to stop riding, when I let him try my Yamaha TDR250. He fell in love and bought two of them. Fantastic machine! He just died at 82 having rode his bike to lunch the day before. Yes I will ride a lighter machine when I get older.SteveD wrote:![]()

Any and all disclaimers may apply
Re: Vinnylonglegs.
My father-in-law is 86 and still rides his R1100RT. He just has trouble putting it on the center stand these days. Still, he and his girlfriend, she's younger, still ride quite a bit. He has just had to lower the distance of his rides. Anything over 300 miles wears him out for a couple days and he needs the time to recover before continuing. If he keeps it to 100 miles or less per day, he's manages well; as long as there's not a lot of them in a row.SteveD wrote:![]()

"Lighter" was a primary consideration when I purchased my last bike at age 54 ... (K to Hex)SteveD wrote:...

Uhhh ... wanta buy it ?
It is one of those bikes that I've allways lusted after, but never done much about. There is one for sale localy http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified- ... 1_12379321 but he's asking too much. The big downside for me (aside from suitable funding) is where I live. I just don't get off the Island enough to stretch the legs of a road runner like that.
