I embarassed to admit that when i got the R65 the wiring to the back brake light switch and the oil pressure/neutral switch were missing,I didn't realise at the time i could have bought the sub looms so i cut the male connectors off the main loom and just used some lengths of wire to connect the relevent parts.
My question is can i buy the male connector plugs anywhere?,I've looked in Motobins and Motorworks but no joy.
Can anyone point me to a site i can buy them from.
Thanks.

Re: R65 electrical connectors
Hello !
I've just checked on the factory shop ( http://www.bmw-classic.de click on "parts shop") that they are available for my 1982 R65. As are the plugs.
So instead of buying them direct from BMW in Germany and paying a lot of postage why you do not try the nearest BMW dealer ? I would try that and come with the references of the needed parts just in case he can't find them ... And as they are stated as available on the factory shop, he can't tell you they are not made anymore ... as says my nearest dealer every time I ask

Re: R65 electrical connectors
I've experienced the same issue a few times, Derek. To keep things OEM looking, I have purchased a couple BMW wiring harness off eBay. They have already paid for themselves in cost savings and waiting, waiting, waiting...

Georgesgiralt,I had a look on the German site and i think i found the connector,if it's the same one as you've spoken about it's a female connector, the connectors i snipped off are male connectors.
Thanks for looking though,I will keep that site in mind.
Montmil,I think you may be right about buying a used harness,I'll have a look on flea bay.

Well used harness mean used... Triple check with the vendor that the part your require is present...
don't ask how I know that...
All pat are available from BMW just, maybe, difficult to find.
