Timing Chain Sprcket Tool

Post by buffalotankbob »

I successfully used a puller found in the "Powerbuilt 5 Pc. Front End Service Kit" (Kit #5) that I rented from autozone.
it reached far enough under the sprocket to pull, without damaging the teeth.

Same kind of kit can be seen here: http://www.toolsmithonline.com/products ... e-Kit.html

The puller is the one with the longest reach, in the far right side of the case.

Hope this helps someone!

Does the kit come with some kind of button to protect the nose of the crankshaft?

No, it did not.
I used a copper washer to protect the tip of the crankshaft.
the puller worked like a charm for me and it "net" cost nothing to use [rented thru autozone]!

Always an Airhead bonus.
