Conti Classic Attack tires
Conti Classic Attack tires
These are fairly new on the market. They're radial, come in airhead sizes, and are fine to run with tubes. Has anyone tried them?
Re: Conti Classic Attack tires
Right. I've seen the reviews all of which have sounded favorable. Just wondering if anyone on this board has actually tried them and what they thought.

Snowbum updated one of his pages just a few days ago about the Conti Attacks:
http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/section5.htm
At the top he says that radials are not suited for Airheads, but down about 1/2 page he seems to think the Contis are fine. His concern was about not being in Airhead sizes, but maybe that's changed and he hasn't updated his webite.

Yeah, I don't think he does much removal of obsolete info, he just adds new info. So, the "radials: no" info is left over from before these new designs came out.Kurt in S.A. wrote:Snowbum updated one of his pages just a few days ago about the Conti Attacks:

Re: Conti Classic Attack tires
Snow bum seems to be saying that the Conti Classics are okay but, unlike some other reviews, he doesn't exactly wax enthusiastic about them the way I read it. The sizes he discusses are the only ones I've seen on Conti's website: 100/90-19 for the front and 110/90-18 and 120/90-18 for the rear. I'm thinking of these for my '82 R100 which has Michelin Mac 50's now - - 100 front and 120 rear. The 120 is tight but okay. Not sure if I should take a chance on a Conti 120, though. I know 4.00 would fit but they don't make it in that size. Would the 110 Conti be a better choice than the 120 for the rear?
Re: Conti Classic Attack tires
It'd be nice if they did them in "classic" inch sizes.
Re: Conti Classic Attack tires
I bought a set in the spring. PHENOMENAL tires.
Last year, I burned through a rear Conti GO! tire in 3000 miles on my r80/7. Really disappointed.
This year, did a 3500 mile ride through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota with the classic attacks. The front tire is barely worn, and the rear is likely 1/3-1/2 gone. For a point of reference, my 16 year old daughter rode with us on her Suzuki GS650 with brand new Dunlop 404 tires (which were supposed to be high mileage tires). Her front tire is 1/2 way gone, and her rear tire is completely toast.
I am buying her a set of the conti classic attacks for her next year.
We don't ride crazy fast, but at a good pace with enough camping and gear to ride/camp for 10 days.
Don't fret bout "inch" sizes. If you match front and rear, you won't have any issues. plenty of space for the 110 rear. (I didn't try the 120). Front fit fine. Bike was insensitive to tar snakes and road grooves. Easy to install, too.
I am buying her a set of the conti classic attacks for her next year. I can't wait to bun off the Michelin Activs i have on my R60/5 so I can install the classic attacks.
You won't be disappointed. I bought mine for ~$125 each from http://www.motorcycletiresmaniac.com/mo ... tires.html
One hell of a deal, i say.
