Hole in shaft boot

I have my finger behind these holes to help expose them better. They're pin hole size, but enough to allow oil out.
I've ordered a replacement and the 4 nuts for the shaft. In the meantime, is there a modern goop that might do the job sealing these for a while. I can rotate them to the top also.

If you can clean the area you could try a bicycle tube patch,

or, be brave and give it a light touch over with a soldering iron!

I would fashion a diaper and zip-tie it around the boot until the new one arrives.

Maybe?

I have seen Silicone stick in place on a hole on a U-joint boot.

Unless you are going a long distance, I wouldn't worry about it. The diaper is to keep things clean, but won't keep the oil in place. The oil level isn't important down to just under 1/2, or maybe less.

I have drained out 50 cc many times with no damage.

Spooky. This what I was doing this afternoon.

Simple fix. Clean the oil out the holes and use a dab of super glue. The old super glue and clean rubber are made for each other.

That's what I was going to try Dan, but thought maybe a more recent goop might be better at it. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

Duane, it's best to keep whatever oil is in there, as it seems to lubricate the rear wheel otherwise!

I'll second that.
Tried it with the kids, it didn't matter how well they were taped on, that shit still got out.

Try Shoe Goo. It's great stuff. Fixed a rip in my back rest.
