They have a configuration that would do my commute now, but it's about $18,000. Still, I'd rather have it than a R1200GS.... Have you ridden one yet? I see they have a dealer in Eugene but I rarely make it down there. Hmm, go test ride one and go look at the Bike Friday and Co-Motion factories all in one day?

I haven't ridden one. I could in Vancouver, but I'm afraid I'd buy it on the spot. I still need a bit more range for my location. No more breathing fumes!

Don't forget that sport bike that will go over 200 miles on a charge, for only twice the money. But it's certainly not a dual sport.

I don't think it will make anywhere near 200 miles!

Terry Hershner is the Zero factory tester and holds nearly all of the electric vehicle records. He is a very good friend of Craig Vetter and I meet him there often. He has modified his Zero to get far more miles. Just adding Craig's fairing doubled the miles on a single charge.

Zak, Craig's son, and my very good friend rides one all of the time. He loves it. I could take it for a ride anytime, but choose not to tempt myself.

Zak also has a standing offer to take a Tesla out anytime he wishes. He has sold several of them for Tesla, so they love him. That I would like to drive and probably will upon my return to the USA.

Making the recharge time faster at the public charge stations would be more important to me than greater range. If they could make the bike compatible with a Tesla supercharger it would only take about 10 minutes to put in over 150 miles of range.

Probably not if you ride it at 200 mph, which it will also do. Nice round matching numbers that won't happen at the same time.

Extra batteries and chargers but also much improve aerodynamics . A standard motorcycle and rider is an assault on the air it moves through. Better aero means less power needed to push through the air ....thus better range.

Still needs to have usable comfort for touring duties.
