Anniversary R5 Special

Post by pxc433 »

(I don't know where to post this, as it's a very modern airhead as you'll see. Please feel free to move this post if in the wrong place).

I absolutely loved seeing this, hope you like it too. It's a BMW official project.

The rear end is not solid; it uses an Ohlins. I have still not been able to discern how it works.

One can see the lower pivot point for the movable section, it get hidden by the muffler. I think he is pulling an optical fast one on us as from the side it looks solid. If you got a got a look from the rear I believe the upper portion has a parallel section inboard to work the shock, pretty clever.

I believe it to be a solid rear end with a floating seat. The seat is on a lever mounted forward that is suspended by the shock/spring.

Nope, read the article and look at the pictures- it has a swingarm/rear suspension.
