Re: Getting close!

It was strange walking through the paddock at Barber and seeing an electric cable plugged into the gas tank-at least where the gas tank should be. They were racing in their own class. Who knows what the future holds.

Re: rear end feels loose - but tire worn oddly

I had the same problem on a Road Rider also. The tire looked good when I checked it, but when I rolled the bike, cords were showing elsewhere on the perimeter. A scary thought after a 400 mile ride in summer heat. The tire was mounted with a tube on a snowflake and was not balanced. It gave no signi...

Re: Diverging Diamond Interchange

I went through one this weekend-295 at Beach. The way the lane markers were set up, I didn't even realize it at first. i now see how it works. People exiting the interstate and turning left at the same time. It cut out several minutes each cycle.

Re: Diverging Diamond Interchange

It's coming to Savannah at a tune of $ multi-millions. Hope it's worth the cost. I should be happy, Georgia is spending money on a road not in Atlanta.

Re: How eBikes May Affect the Dealership Model

If the range increased tomorrow, the e-bike would make a good choice for commuters. The real problem is where does the electricity to power these bikes come from? Power companies will increase generating capacity when it is economically viable. It will be years before the capacity to replace petrole...

Re: Beatrice runs but needs some love

Fuel flow should stop when floats are parallel to the carb body. Bend tang to adjust. Using sidestand can cause oil to flow around the rings. This can cause fouled plug and will cause smoke left side only. Bring engine to operating temperature before attempting any carb adjustment other than float. ...

Re: Ear Plugs!

I once pulled into a rest area, removed my earplugs and only when I pushed the bike to another parking place without them did I hear the bad transmission bearing. I no longer wear them. Of course I lost a lot of high frequency hearing over the years. Impact printers may be to blame for some of it an...

Re: App Warns Drivers that Bikers Are Nearby

Why not a required app to turn off cellphone service when phone is moving more than one foot per hour. Cell phone lobby is too strong and a lot of people feed their egos by having to be in touch all the time. Get serious. I lived most of my life without a cellphone and see no reason I need to talk o...

Re: 100/7 using oil

My airheads have always run at half mast. They auto corrected any overfill quickly. At half mast they seldom drink oil except for the leaks.

Re: Will This 72 R60/5 Be My First Airhead?

Tranny and carb rebuild are good, but this machine is more than a couple of years old and seals are likely to either leak now or very soon. Plan on a transmission spline lube, fluid and filter change. The tires may show plenty of tread, but be very old and also need replacement. These are things to ...
