I can't see the mounting holes causing problems. The stand is not really stressed in that direction much.

Re: Paint
I know this is late. Maybe it will help. Robert Prayther in Valley Center, Calif. is a top notch painter. He doesn't do the pin stripes but I think he'll get it to the man who does them. He was/is the painter for a BMW dealership in this area and he does lots of BMWs. When I say he is the painter, h...

Re: Shorter shifting
Jeff, you wonder why the factory didn't make it that way. I wonder the same thing. On most cars, at least the ones I like, there are shift throw shorteners or complete other shifters. That's because car companies do the same thing, in making the shift throw way longer than it needs to be. On cars, s...

Re: Stinky boot
After getting my bike back, I realized the horn(s) did not work. I'm riding through LA so I'd like the ability to alert texting drivers and kamakazee lane changers that I'm there. Second stage has been checked out and it works fine. Middle finger of glove will still rise above the others, making a n...

Re: Stinky boot
Hi Mellville, Are you going up to Bend? I think that's how some people go there. I may be able to head down and meet for breakfast or something in Ashland. Are you going to be on the bike or in the four wheeler? Please give me a call or a text so we have a way to make contact if that can work out. I...

Re: Stinky boot
Hi all, Got both issues fixed. Encountered another problem. The bike was not charging. I removed the instrument cluster and checked the "gen" bulb. The bulb was working. Next week, I will be riding the bike 800 miles. Diagnosing and fixing problems like these takes me a long time. I've got...

Re: Tire to swing arm clearance
Re, the wider vs stock size rear tire: Was the rear tire losing traction under hard acceleration? Was it slipping out in corners? Seems to me that the wider tire has enough downsides that I would stick with the stock width.

Re: Just barely got me home
Symptoms similar to what you describe happened to me. It turned out to be a ground problem. Under the tank, the coil(s) are held in place by four 6X1mm bolts. I think it is the front left one that was loosened. There are some brown wires that go under that screw, or, it could probably be any of the ...
