Valve clearances explained
Re: Valve clearances explained
I must say that among the many great things about Buell XB ownership is the OHV & hydraulic lifter design which makes valve adjustments a moot point. Of course, those lifters occasionally collapse necessitating getting down to the crankcase to resolve!

Valve adjustment are in no way a moot point. I own a KTM, and they are a pain in the ass.gocytocis wrote:I must say that among the many great things about Buell XB ownership is the OHV & hydraulic lifter design which makes valve adjustments a moot point. I don't doubt your KTM is a PITA; my comment was limited to my XB which has no provision or requirement for valve adjustments, hence a moot point for anyone who owns one.Zombie Master wrote:Valve adjustment are in no way a moot point. How about a "my valve adjustments are easier than your valve adjustments" contest?Major Softie wrote:(And, the "my valve adjustments are worse than your valve adjustments" contest has begun)

Any motor where the valves are supposed to be adjusted hot is bad.
