Mal ,this page gives all the standard Reynolds tubing sizes. Nice, strong light and expensive but how do you bend the stuff to nice neat curves ?

Fill with sand and use a mandrel?
I've never done it, but I've heard of the process.

My copper tube bender isn't strong enough for steel, how else do you bend thin tubing ?

Time to revive this thread. Spring has sprung. I'll be heading northwards in a week or so, dilly dallying along the way in my normal manner. Thing is, we haven't actually chosen a venue for this gathering. Flicking back to page 6 and Buzz's excellent previews, I reckon the Thungatti reserve looks like an ideal spot. It's far enough away from civilisation to be not too crowded, and is comfortably appointed, including undercover bbq area (or bike parking in the event of weather).

So, what say you?

Looks like a good spot to me Charlie and an easy day's run from Dubbo. SteveC is itching to stay in a pub though,... shhh.. make sure we tell him there is a pub .... when we get there, just say it must'a burnt down.

What do the Northerner's reckon about Thungatti Reserve? It's out by Ebor NSW.

Hi All

I'm not sure of my attendance for this. It has snuck up on me & I didn't realise it was so soon.

I have a few things happening - this weekend a few of us from SEQ are heading to the Ragged Fringe Rally at Bretti Reserve on Thunderbolts Way http://wipasnapa.com/MGOA/Ragged-Fringe ... 013/33563/

The following weekend a mate & I are off to the Far Cairn Rally again.

I was going to alternate trips between the RS & GS - however I just noticed the bottom shock mount bolt on the GS has sheared off in the final drive. Luckily I saw the shockie sitting out a bit more from the final drive than normal. That could have been very nasty if it had come out altogether while I was mobile. So now I'm RSing until I get that sorted out.

I did raise the Thungatti gathering with a few of the SEQ Airhead riders but they seemed to be working on something else for that weekend - but I don't think that has come to anything. I will raise it again with the few who are going to the Ragged Fringe this weekend.

If Steve wants to stay at a pub, the Ebor Pub has a few motel type rooms.

It's a pity you probably won't make it, but understood. The SEQ mob's social calendar looks pretty busy, but I hope some can make it. Pity also about the GS shock bolt, and very good that you saw it in time. Makes me glad I've got a spare shock.

I'm waiting for a suitable weather window to get over the hill to the coast. There is a lot of precipitation forecast, and some of it will be snow, but looking ok from next Tuesday-ish. So Bob, I should be at Narooma Thursday-ish, and look forward to a guided tour of the hinterland.
