This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Ah, Lemon Tree - Port Stevens - an old stamping ground. I guess it will be something boat related that is taking you so far from home(?).

Yep, a mate recently imported (by sail) a very nice strip plank yacht. I'm going down to have a Captain Cook cos I might build a big boat too and want to have a look at the scantlings ..

Well, I have a rack. I went the Sibbo route, solid bar. It ain't pretty, especially with my welds, but it'll do the job, and all up. only 2 or 3kg. Lighter than a pillion no?

Next things a new back tyre, fit my big-tube swingarm, valve clearances (got a rattly rocker arm) and by then it will be time to pack.

Great rack, Mal. Looks very robust, easy to clip straps to, and you can tie stuff under it and beside it in the 'big-fat-arse' cut-out of yer panniers. Nice one.

Brunhilde has a full tank of juice and had an oil and filter change, and is looking pretty pleased with herself. Apart from the puddle growing under her universal joint boot. I'll be carrying some gear oil on the trip to top up the drive shaft. Two sleeps to go until I hit the road.

Thanks Charlie. The space underneath I think will be very handy, 1 litre bottles are a neat fit either side of the mudguard, might be good safe place for a fine selection of vino de mesa tinto.

So, it looks like it will be just me, SteveC, Charlie and possibly Sibbo. Anyone else?

There's a window of opportunity opening for me at work. Not open yet, but I'm hopeful.
Keep plug wires crossed for me!
