Tire to swing arm clearance
Re: Tire to swing arm clearance
Yep, tire time chez melville also. 8,113 miles is a few too many for a Pilot Active.
Skinny (4.00-18) and no spacer.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

That tire should have been shit canned about 4000mi ago.

No other requirements, but you should have either side of 1mm clearance between wheel hub and fd face.Zombie Master wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 8:36 pmThis..... is a very important consideration! Embarrassing modern sport bikes is a noble pursuit.
Other than exchanging the top hat spacer, are there any other adjustments required?
You would have maybe three plus mm clearance there with the longer spacer?

Any and all disclaimers may apply

Final drive.
When the longer spacer is fitted the gap between the right hand edge of the wheel/brake hub and final drive increases to approx. 3mm

Thanx! Mine measures 2.79 mm. Is that acceptable? Tire doesn't rub but is close.

2.79 mm is fine. There's a lip which you can see through the 2.79 mm gap so it's not as if the brake hub is open to the elements.Zombie Master wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 3:55 amThanx! Mine measures 2.79 mm. Is that acceptable? Tire doesn't rub but is close.

So what size tire are we talking ? I'm running 120/90-18 Bridgestones with no shim. They handle great and I don't feel the need for bigger rear at all.
