oil pressure switch /5
oil pressure switch /5
has anyone purchased an oil pressure switch from capital cycle? Mine came in today with a copper crush washer and I was wondering if its for the later models. is there any way to tell by thread count?

Re: oil pressure switch /5
What part number did they use? Do they use BMW part numbers? BMW Hucky shows part number 61 31 1 351 799 for /5s (remember there's another thread that says early /5s use pipe threads) and 61 31 1 243 414 for /6 -on. They list M10 for /5 and M12 for /6-on...that might be the metric thread size.

That number is correct for the /5, but it doesn't require a washer. It should have a tapered "pipe" thread. The switch for the later bikes, that comes with a washer, has coarser straight threads, like a bolt.lelocp wrote:part number 61 31 1 351 799
