Any 650 post 81 g'box should fit shouldn't it? Maybe even the 80's & 100's boxes too!
Tried ebay.de?

Actually, unless I'm badly mistaken, I believe any gearbox from any '81 and later airhead will fit jimmyk's R45.

Re: bmw r45 gearbox
Only one slight caveat... a box from the later 'Paralever' bikes (R100R, Mystic and 'GS) will have the output oil seal fitted the worng way round. It will still fit... it's otherwise identical... but the output seal should be turned round or replaced.Ken in Oklahoma wrote:Actually, unless I'm badly mistaken, I believe any gearbox from any '81 and later airhead will fit jimmyk's R45.

Cornered is NOT the word. Digested is more like it.

Re: bmw r45 gearbox
As you are in Ireland, motobins or motorworks will sell you a fully reconditioned gearbox for around £300.
Re: bmw r45 gearbox
WOW! That would be a bargain! ($480 USD) I was quoted just under $1000 USD for fully reconditioned from Re-Psycle in Ohio.chasbmw wrote:As you are in Ireland, motobins or motorworks will sell you a fully reconditioned gearbox for around £300.
