Re: Daily ride
I rode a BMW R80RT with no oil cooler in north Texas in temperatures up to 109F with no problem.

Re: Fork Rebuild Stiction Help
If it's truly stiction instead of thick fork oil, try this: During my rebuild, several sites recommended loosening the upper and lower triple clamps and the fender mount / brace and bouncing the bike by rocking it. This lines everything up and seemed to work well.

Triangular Turn Signal Switch Knob, 1984 R100
After 40 years, the plastic knob that attaches to the turn signal switch on the left side handlebar broke and fell off. I still have the attaching screw. Before I fabricate something from JB Weld, does anyone have a spare switch knob from a dead turn signal switch?
Thanks!
Thanks!

R100RS mirrors
For those of you with an airhead RS who would like to see more than your shoulders in your mirrors, try Emgo mirrors for 2003-2006 Honda CBR 600. I paid $54 shipped for the pair, and they're great. You'll likely need to drill out the bolt that attaches the stalk to the Emgo mount; need a bolt to att...

Better Airhead RS Mirrors
After 38 years on my '84 RS with stock mirrors augmented by stick-on convex mirrors added to the originals, I really want something better. I've seen references to both spacers to go between the factory mount and the mirror, and Japanese mirrors that either fit through the factory mount, or replace ...

Electrical System Upgrades?
Equipment info request. My '84 R100RS has 303K miles, and I'm planning several bucket list vacations and road trips on it. I'm in the US, and the marginal electricals remain my concern. I'm wondering if the parts to improve the bike even exist, but I'd like to reduce electrical load, thus: I recall ...

Re: Occasional indicators.
Mine has had issues in it's 303K miles. First thing I'd try is spray contact cleaner while moving / working the switch . You can do that with the switchgear still on the bar. If you need to disassemble the switch, it's not that hard, but do it in a clear plastic bag to retain the detent spring and b...

Re: E-10 Gas
Although north Texas winters generally allow year-round riding, I alternate between three bikes. When I park one for a while, it's with Sta-Bil added and tank filled. I keep the two I'm not riding on a battery tender. All start immediately when needed.
