I had the same problem with an R80. I was told (not by Rob) to yank on it until you fart. Didn't work. So, I used the drill method, which did work. I then filled the hole with metal filler putty. The downside was that the locking mechanism never worked again. Good luck.

Re: Fairing attachment points on a R60/5
Thanks to both of you. This Wixom comes darn close save for the windshield has 6 mounting screws whereas mine has 5.

Fairing attachment points on a R60/5
Does anyone recognize this fairing? If so, what do the top attachments look like and where do they attach? I have the bottoms and know where they go.

Re: ID sidecar
Thanks Kurt. The Felber does come close but the trunk lid is off, at least when looking at images available on the internet. I've also researched the Globe and Cozy brands from India. Both companies had an association with Steib before they [initially] closed up shop in the late 50s. So, many of the...

ID sidecar
Can anyone help ID this sidecar? I've done an exhaustive search and came up with 'close but no cigar'. It has no badge, stamp or tags of any kind. It came over from Germany about 30 odd years ago mated to a '51 R67. The 'cabine' is made by Richter. The cradle looks to be very similar to the TR 500 S...

Re: R75/5 blowing fuses when starting
Well, after another month of riding with no issues it happened again. Frustration would be an understatement. This time I queried a good friend from Langely, British Columbia who operates a motorcycle repair shop specializing in BMWs. Like many contributors to this forum, he's forgotten more than mo...

Re: Instrument shrouds
I've used Dowsil 732 with success on glass and 'eyebrows' on the instrument cluster. Stays flexible so not permanent.

Re: R75/5 blowing fuses when starting
Thanks for your continued input but I can only report what I did and what the outcome was. Unlikely maybe but that is the only thing that made a difference.

Re: R75/5 blowing fuses when starting
Thanks. Timing was correct and it failed to blow a fuse when the harness was bypassed and when plugs were removed. So, I decided to go back to a poor or bad ground. My good friend and fellow Canadian biker Brett suggested that I replace the ground from the battery to the transmission. After much sea...

Re: R75/5 blowing fuses when starting
I've sourced 10A fuses and will use those for now. This bike was originally without fuses.
So, what else should I check? I'm at a loss.
